Koji Nakamura

Born in Shimosuwa, Nagano Prefecture in 2001
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Intermedia Art in 2025
In the Suwa region where I was born and raised, giant wooden pillars have been objects of worship since ancient times.
In his own work, he places the utmost importance on the spirit of "animism," which is the belief in spiritual beings in nature, such as the sea, mountains, and rivers, and through his work he explores the connection between how this spirit is being passed down in modern society.
