Error Gear

The weapons and tools (Gear) included with action figures do not faithfully reproduce real-world functions, but rather have a common visual language, where they are recognized as "weapons" or "tools" by their silhouette and outline.

This work, "Error Gear," considers the traces of humanity that emerge when such symbolic forms are combined with the "errors" that very occasionally occur in industrial products.
Slight discrepancies in industrial products, which are inherently uniform and inorganic, evoke a human presence, giving them an organic feel despite being manufactured goods.
By reinterpreting "errors" not merely as defects but as intentionally amplified and exaggerated expressions of "humanity" that fall outside uniformity, we attempt to visualize the human presence emanating from industrial products and the value of such deviations.
